Not many gardeners think of succession planting to get the most production from their space. Spring plantings bolt or have a short harvest period, and when they are done, you can replace them with a new crop. Add compost to replace nutrients removed from the soil by the finished crop. Then replant to keep your garden feeding you beyond the first frost.
