> There are three seed swap events this year!
- Feb 20 from 11-2 at Flowerdust Fruit Market on 64W. This is a bake sale and fundraiser, too.
- Mar 19 at 10am at the Ag Center on Chamisa Road. This is the
3rd Annual, the big one, with demonstrations, and lots of gardeners and extension agents to speak with.
- April, time and date TBD, Dixon Community Center, in conjunction with the Embudo Valley Library, and hopefully the unveiling of their new seed lending library we are helping to set up.
Seed donations are welcome, so sort your stash, and contact me! Thanks!
> The 3rd Annual Taos Seed Swap will be held at the Juan I. Gonzales Ag Center on March 19th! The Taos County Cooperative Extension Service is
co-sponsoring it and donating the space. The plan is for extension agents to be available to answer gardening questions, and there will lots of info for you to bring home. Sounds exciting! Stay tuned for details!
> We started off the 2016 growing season with a radio interview on local station KNCE’s Farm to Table show. Many thanks to Michelle Bevell for inviting me! She and her husband, Brandon, also own the Flowerdust Fruit Market, our newest location for a seed exchange station and retail racks of Renee’s Garden Seeds!
> 2016 CSA Shares of starts and seeds are now available! I am going full on for 2016, and there are some new options. Check the CSA Shares page for details. Contact me with questions.
> I have received some wonderful seed donations from local gardeners for the Taos Seed Exchange! If you have a seed stash you need to move, please let me know! We also have a few new locations for 2016 – Taos Fly Shop, Taos Market & Diner, and the brand new Flowerdust Fruit Market. Stay up to date on the Seed Exchange page, the newsletter, and the Facebook page.
> END OF SEASON SEED SALE! Renee’s Garden Seeds are on sale at KOKO and the Dixon Market for $1.50 per packet, which is more than 50% off! Stock up for next year’s garden, and for trading at the Taos Seed Exchange stations and the annual seed swap.

> 2nd Annual Taos Seed Swap March 28th!
> In the SeedBroadcast agri-Culture Journal Spring 2015 edition, I wrote about the rewards of starting and operating the Taos Seed Exchange, page 14.
> I need to do some fundraising for the 2nd Annual Seed Swap. Expenses are almost $1000, and I am reaching out to my huge seed and gardening loving community for help! There are donation jars at the Habitat ReStore, Pieces and More Pieces, and you can read the details here. Thank you so much!
> The 2nd Annual Taos Seed Swap will be held on March 28th from 10am-2pm at the Quality Inn on Paseo Sur across from Friday Motors. Come trade your seed stash for heirloom and non-GMO seed, some of which was locally grown. Share your knowledge and learn something new talking to gardeners from northern New Mexico.
> CSA shares are now available for ordering! Sweet Spring Shares are delivered in late April, and Sweet Summer Shares in late May. Or you can Build Your Own Share! Special order from a list for summer planting! Order shares here!
> January 31st is National Seed Swap Day! To celebrate, we will be at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore from 11am-1pm. There will be a larger-than-usual seed exchange station, gardening info, and goodies to graze on. First seed swap of the year!
Another seed exchange station will be set up at the Dixon Market in time for this great day, along with a retail rack of Renee’s Garden Seeds and Scatter Gardens of California Poppies. Sadly, I can’t be in two places at once, but there are goodies to eat there all the time!
> KOKO Coffee/Deli/Carry-Out has Renee’s Pollinator Flower Scatter Gardens now! This is a mix of reseeding annuals that will bring in butterflies and bees.
> There is a rack of 2015 Renee’s Garden Seeds at the Dixon Market along with two kinds of Scatter Garden canisters – California Poppies and Wildflowers! Plants from either will reseed and provide years of color! The CA Poppies are especially hardy to our area, too. Seeds make great gifts!
> The 2015 Seed Swap is getting organized! Seed donations are rolling in, and I’m sorting through the remnants of the 2014 Seed Exchange Stations. It was a great year! Most everything we started out with was traded for something else. This community made it successful! Thank you all!
> With the new Sweet Mid-summer Share you can get the most production from your garden! A tray of 6-packs and 4 packets of seeds will be delivered to you in July to extend your gardening season well into fall. Read more here!
> On Saturday, May 31st, Brigitte Barlos will be signing her cookbook, The Homegrown Gourmet, and we will be talking about gardening and cooking! Come see what this Chopped celebrity has to say about food before and after it hits the table.
I will be selling seeds that can be planted now, and warm weather starts – tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, summer squash, winter squash, marigolds, cosmos, zinnias (all great bee flowers!), and basil. I’ll also have lettuce, kale, chard, borage and oregano starts. There will be a Seed Exchange table set up with new seeds, some from a seedbank in Spain!
> We are having a Garden Party & Plant Sale on May 3rd from 11am-3pm at More Pieces on the Cañon Bypass East, across from Vista Grande High School. Come celebrate the beginning of the growing season with food, music, kid activities and garden talk! We’ll also have seeds, plants, potting soil, containers and lots of upcycled things for your garden! Details will follow as we have them!
> We are holding a one-day Seed Swap on March 22 from 10am-2pm at the Hotel Don Fernando de Taos! Think of it as a seed exchange station on steroids with lots of seed for swapping and lots of seed for buying! Music, demos, talks and fun!
> There are 7 seed exchange stations set up: Pieces, More Pieces, ReThreads, Moxie, KOKO, Habitat ReStore and the Dixon Market. I also have seeds at home for trade and sale. See the photos on the seed exchange page! Contact me if you need anything.
